Choose the best file
Use the original file from your designer where possible. Screenshots and social-media downloads often lose detail. Enlarging a small image or changing its file type does not restore missing detail.
Vector shapes can stay sharp when resized, although a vector file may contain embedded pixel images. A PDF can contain either. For a pixel image, both its pixel dimensions and finished print size affect clarity.
Visual explanation: Artwork clarity A clear source retains readable edges. Low-resolution artwork can show stepped edges. Changing format does not recreate missing detail. Inspect the design at its finished size.
Check before uploading
- Confirm the logo version and spelling.
- Inspect edges and small lettering at the intended finished size.
- Check which areas should be transparent and which should remain white.
- Upload the file using the supported formats and size limit shown beside the upload control.
Keep your logo's proportions when resizing. Increasing its finished size can make limited detail more noticeable; the studio's quality guidance helps you judge the selected size.
Colour and detail
A screen and a finished garment can display colour differently. Share any essential brand-colour reference with the team before committing to a colour-critical result. Use the original artwork rather than a photograph of an earlier print as the production source.
For embroidery, very small details may need a different size or a simplified interpretation. Review the proposed result and any artwork-preparation charge shown for your order.
Send artwork through Colour Apparel Studio for a free suitability check, including before you order. Follow the formats and file-size limit shown in Studio; a supported file type does not guarantee a production-ready design. Start with Upload artwork below to copy your Help reference. In Your Info, choose Use a reference and paste into Order or quote reference. For a longer reference or fuller brief, use Artwork notes instead. Nothing is filled in or sent automatically.
Need help with the file?
If your design needs redrawing or rebuilding, we quote and obtain your approval before doing the work. Embroidery digitising is a separate one-off setup charge; check the current approved price and any reuse eligibility for your order. Send the best original file you have and the intended garment, position and finished size.
