Connecting your existing Shopify store

Before you connect

Use the Shopify store you own or are authorised to manage. Have the intended product range and Colour Apparel fulfilment setup ready.

Your connection instructions should identify the current installation route and permissions requested. Review those permissions in Shopify. Passwords and private access tokens belong in neither support chat nor an artwork upload.

Complete the connection

1. Open the Shopify connection action in your fulfilment setup.
2. Select or enter the intended store.
3. Review and authorise the requested Shopify access.

After authorising access, return to your fulfilment setup and check that the intended Shopify store is connected.

Finish readiness

Map each product and variant to the correct garment, artwork and position. Review the agreed payment, shipping and order-release settings. Then complete a test order and check the results.

Connection success means access has been established. It does not mean every product is mapped or that the live-order readiness checks are complete.

If access fails

Check the store and your Shopify authority. Record the visible error, store reference and occurrence time with secrets removed, then ask the team for the next step.

For orders that are not reaching fulfilment, use the troubleshooting guide rather than disconnecting or reinstalling repeatedly.

Before using an installation link

Ask the Colour Apparel team for the connection instructions for your agreed service. The public Help page does not install an app or provide a private connection panel. Use an authorised Shopify account and check the store name before granting the permissions shown by Shopify. Do not send a password, sign-in code or private access token to Support.

Record the result

• Store address and the organisation that owns it.
• Connection confirmation or the exact error text, with the date and time.
• Which product range will be connected and who can maintain its mappings.
• The agreed payment and order-release rules.
• The test order that will prove the setup works from purchase through dispatch.

If the result is unclear

Keep the original setup reference and ask the team to check it. Reinstalling repeatedly can make it harder to establish what changed. A connection confirmation is only one check: it does not prove that every size, colour or artwork file is mapped correctly.
