Separate the parts of the service
White-label fulfilment describes a customer experience under your brand. It does not, by itself, specify every packaging, labelling or integration feature. Confirm the service agreed for your setup before advertising it.
Use a launch checklist
- Products: which styles, colours and variants are supported?
- Branding: which artwork and placements are approved?
- Presentation: what packaging, paperwork, labels or inserts are included, if any?
- Dispatch: which destinations and delivery options are available?
- Operations: how are payment issues, unavailable items and address changes handled?
- Support: who speaks to the customer and who investigates a production or delivery issue?
Test the complete customer journey
Place the agreed test order and review the item, packaging, notifications and tracking experience together. A connected shop is only one part of the journey.
Keep promises aligned
Use the current fulfilment guides and your agreed setup for pricing, delivery and returns statements. Keep optional requests such as custom packaging separate until their availability, cost and process have been confirmed.
Separate the features before agreeing the service
| Feature | Confirm explicitly |
|---|---|
| Unbranded packaging | What appears on the outside and inside of the parcel |
| Own-brand garment labels | Supported garments, retained information and any separate cost |
| Inserts | Availability, artwork requirements and replenishment process |
| Store connection | Product/variant mapping and order update behaviour |
| Customer notifications | Which system sends each message and which brand is shown |
| Exceptions | Who handles stock, payment, address and return issues |
Walk through an example order
A customer buys a navy medium T-shirt from your store. Check that the fulfilment reference identifies the correct product, colour, size, artwork and destination. Then inspect the produced item and parcel and review the messages received. A correctly mapped black variant does not prove that the navy variant is also correct.
If tracking is delayed, inspect the original order and its linked fulfilment reference before submitting another order. If an address needs changing, request the change through the agreed route and wait for confirmation of what is possible at that production or delivery stage.
Keep a launch record
Record the agreed product range, packaging features, test-order reference, customer support responsibilities and exception process. Revisit the setup before adding a new region or promising an extra packaging feature. White label describes the intended brand experience; the specific service is the one agreed and tested for your business.
Put this guide to work
