Preview and approval have different jobs

The studio preview lets you arrange artwork and see your intended design on the garment. A production approval records the exact specification you authorise where that step is required.

A digital artwork proof needs your approval for new artwork or designs, and for changes to previously approved artwork. We normally send the first proof within 1 working day of receiving usable artwork.

Visual explanation: Preview and approval The studio preview helps position your artwork. Review the exact garment, artwork and dimensions. An approval records the specific version when that step is required. Arrange, review, then approve where required.

Check the details

  1. Garment and colour.
  2. Sizes and quantities.
  3. Logo version, spelling, names and numbers.
  4. Print or Embroidery.
  5. Positions and finished dimensions.
  6. Any differences between items.

Check every personalised name and review the whole design, not just the last change. Read the stated finished width and height: a design that looks large on your screen may be much smaller on the garment. Confirm the artwork version, garment colour and position before approving.

Approve the right version

Open the current approval request, review its details and use the approval action. Your confirmation is recorded against that version. For a correction, request the change instead of approving an inaccurate version; review the replacement before approving.

An uploaded file or a viewed preview is not itself a recorded production approval. Keep the approval reference with your order.

Colour Apparel will not silently substitute something that materially changes an agreed result. A material change needs to be discussed and reflected in the agreed specification.

Sizes, colours, quantities and artwork can be changed until artwork approval, subject to our team confirming the change. If you spot an error after approval, contact us immediately so we can assess the production stage. Do not assume a message has changed an approved order.

Something on the proof does not look right?

Describe the exact change needed and ask for clarification before approving. Keep the current proof reference with your message. Do not approve an inaccurate version just to move the order forward.
